It's What We Do.
Inspired by family, community, the TV shows Cheers and ER, and martial arts movies of the 1980s and 90s, we opened our doors on January 4th 2010, as a Small Group Training Club, offering 100+ bespoke classes a month to a local membership based in and around Bracknell Forest.Â
In 2011 we ran our first public education event, a full day bootcamp lead by specialists in health, fitness, nutrition, and physical therapy, and followed this in 2012 with our first residential fitness weekender – as well as taking part in the UK’s first Tough Mudder event, which lay the foundation for our always ready for action adventure squad, TEAM MAGNIFICENT.Â
In the years since, our very fit and uncommonly lovely members have taken part in numerous challenges and competitions and pancake races, broken records, survived pandemics, attended family picnics, theatre productions, movie nights, Christmas dinners, and product launches, but most of all, they have forged genuine, trusted, and lifelong bonds and friendships.Â

In 2013 we wrote the UK’s first Small Group Training Certification, gaining professional accreditation under the then UK Register of Exercise Professionals and Skills Active, where we maintained an official rating of outstanding.Â
This lead to our partnering with the Life Fitness Academy in 2014, supporting Blackburn with Darwen Council with staff training in 2015, and in 2016 we accepted our first cohort of Physical Training Instructor candidates, as well as delivering our first workshops for the LFA internationally at a multi day event in Egypt.Â
In 2017 we ran our first Pre & Post Natal Exercise Qualification, and delivered workshops in Europe and the Middle East. 2018 and 2019 saw us in the sky a lot as we returned to Egypt, popped over to Taiwan, and spent multiple weeks on tour delivering Hammer Strength Clinics across India.Â
In 2020 we launched a public health programme called Club Corona, and since 2021 we have dabbled in podcasting, presented a public health programme on the BBC, partnered with the Pocket Rocket Academy, and delivered our Tactical Athlete Programme for an Airport Fire & Rescue Service we have supported for more than a decade.

chestan rock
Strength & Conditioning (S&C), is the science informed application of exercise and training interventions used to develop, and sustain, specific physical qualities and the ability to express them. S&C can play a critical role in athletic performance, resilience, and longevity, and in fields as seemingly diverse as sport, musical theatre, physiotherapy, recreational activity, emergency responders, astronautics, and the military.Â
Our work with recreational and semi-professional athletes predates even THE FIT BOX, where we trained teams and individuals in sports such as football, netball, basketball, touch rugby, running, mixed martial arts, and for military selection, but in more recent years we have worked with athletes competing in hybrid sports events, Muay Thai, and tactical athletes in the field of fire & rescue.Â
CHESTAN ROCK was born from a desire to add mental resilience, greater accessibility, and community to our S&C offering, to connect with and provide tools and support for those forging their own paths, to build and rebuild warriors, to be the reason that nobody has to feel alone.

Truloco
PROJECT TRULOCO is a shared human journey through trauma, powered by TRUth, LOve & COurage, to support and promote the learning, connection, and resilience needed to endure the most difficult moments.
Like all stories, there will be some chapters, and we will share these on our page here on THE FIT BOX website, but also via our Project Truloco YouTube Channel, where we hope to record and film each adventure into the human capacity for survival in a series of videos.Â
PROJECT TRULOCO will cover a range of challenging and sensitive topics that may as a consequence result in emotional discomfort. Please engage with this content at your own pace; it’s ok to hit pause and return later, it’s ok to feel these emotions, and it’s ok to ask for help.
Keep Going.Â
questions
#1 What is THE MUSTARD CLUB?
THE MUSTARD CLUB is the umbrella name under which THE FIT BOX, CHESTAN ROCK, and PROJECT TRULOCO sit. Though these three outlets of physical expression share a clear and strong DNA, they are each different in their own right: a professional organisation focusing on health & fitness, a dedicated strength & conditioning offering for athletic pursuits, and a social impact mission to support those facing difficult moments. The name comes from the observation that, it only takes a little bit of mustard to change the nature of a sandwich, a connective thread that runs through everything we do.Â
#2 What is THE FIT BOX?
THE FIT BOX is a professional organisation focusing on health & fitness. We began as a small group training club in 2010, and have subsequently become a global education provider, delivering bespoke and accredited workshops, courses, seminars, and qualifications. Our work is balanced between offering services to both the fitness industry and the general public.Â
#3 What is CHESTAN ROCK?
CHESTAN ROCK is a dedicated strength & conditioning offering for athletes. Our S&C programme is holistic in nature and maps most closely to needs of the recreational, sub-elite and operational athlete – that doesn’t mean we won’t take your call if you’re in the NBA/Premier League/Team GB, but our primary drive is making professional S&C available to non-professional atheltes.
#4 What is PROJECT TRULOCO?
PROJECT TRULOCO is a social impact mission that exists to support those facing difficult moments. This is primarily a YouTube based project, where we aim to share honest human experiences and reflections on trauma, grief, and mental health – guided by TRUth, LOve & COurage. It is our hope to bring awareness, and promote learning in order to reach and connect with those living with challenges that might become more bearable with greater understanding, connection, and community.Â
#5 Are you a GYM?
We have a gym, in which we offer private one to one and small group training, in person coaching, and sports massage therapy. Availability is limited and for the most part by invitation only. The nature of our gym offering is dynamic and we will provide updates as and when what we offer changes.Â
#6 Can I book onto a COURSE?
Yes. And no. We provide in-house training for gyms, schools, colleges, health clubs, and professional organisations, and do not currently offer any published courses for public access. However, our online courses are available to all and are accessible from anywhere you have access to the internet.Â
#7 When are you OPEN?
Our office hours are 09:00-17:00 Monday-Friday, course start/finish times and private sessions will be agreed on booking.Â
#8 Are you on SOCIALS?
Yes, and you can find us @thefitbox @chestanrock & @projecttruloco
#9 Should I take a ladder to the GYM?
If you feel you are ready to take your fitness to the next level.Â
#10 How can I ask a different QUESTION?
Right at the top of the page on the menu is an option to CONNECT, you can hit this and send us your question directly, or you can email us: mail@thefitbox.co.uk (it’s the same email for questions regarding CHESTAN ROCK & PROJECT TRULOCO)
